Information and background about the KTM Motocross Experience

On the day

Your KTM Motocross Experience will start at 10.00am with signing on, followed by a short safety briefing and introduction. After this you’ll receive some basic off road riding instruction and assessment and then be taken out on to the course to build and develop your skills and confidence in a hands-on situation. You’re then given the chance to have a go on all the different types of off road bikes we have in our new fleet of KTMs. After a short break for lunch your day will continue until approximately 3.30/4.00pm.

Tuition is given on the basic principles of riding such as, body positioning, breaking cornering, up hills and down hills. We supply the bikes and all the necessary safety equipment for the day. No licence is necessary for you to be able to take part on the day only restriction is that you need to be 15 years old and over 5’4” in height and be able to ride a bicycle. The bikes we use are the KTM 450 SX-F, KTM 350 SX-F, KTM 250 SX-F,  KTM 125 SX, KTM 250 EXC-F and the KTM 250 Freeride.

You will learn the very basics of getting a motorcycle moving including using the gears, clutch and most importantly how to stop again safely! Once we have these basics covered you will move on to more advanced techniques such as body positioning and standing on the foot pegs.

Throughout your KTM Motocross Experience we will build your confidence gently until you are capable of things you never thought possible at the beginning of the day such as hill climbs, ruts and loose surfaces. This is motorcycle training that is an amazing experience for the inexperienced and already confident Off-Road rider! The Experience is available on selected dates throughout the year.

Riding a KTM is about one thing – the thrill. With biking its about you and the machine against the terrain, no two laps of the circuit will ever be exactly the same, so it’s all about flexibility and skill. The KTMs have some serious strength and power, so you have to be at your very best.
